Carmela (DiGeronimo) D’Agostino, of Montclair, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021. She was 90. 

Mrs. D’Agostino was born in 1931 in Lacedonia, in the Campania region of Italy. She moved to Luino, on Lake Maggiore, after her marriage in 1950 and immigrated to Montclair in 1957. 

She worked as a seamstress at a coat factory in Paterson until 1971, then worked from home as a successful and beloved tailor for many years. 

Mrs. D’Agostino was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montclair. 

She is survived by her children, Mary D’Agostino (Steven Lee) and Michael D’Agostino (Isabella); her grandchildren, Melinda Taylor (Robert), Roxana Wells (Stewart), Michael P. D’Agostino, Veronica Lee (Marc Zeiger-Guerra), Jessica Lee (Michael Lewis) and Carina Lee; her great-grandchildren, Robert, Charles, Ryan, Ethan, Mikayla, Milo, Julien and August, and  two siblings, Rocco DiGeronimo and Maria Ferri, both living in Italy.

Mrs. D’Agostino was predeceased by her husband, Pasquale, her daughter, Chiara, and her sister, Giovanna Abbruzzese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at St. Joseph’s Church, West Orange.

Arrangements were by Caggiano Memorial Home for Funerals.
