Eleanor Berman, a lifelong resident of Montclair, died peacefully at home on Jan. 20, 2022, with her family by her side. She was 87. 

Early in her marriage she worked at Kaveny Bros. Oil Co., followed by the League of Women Voters in Montclair until its office was moved to Trenton. 

She loved the shore and would spend summers at the family’s beach house in Point Pleasant. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and would spend hours with her books. 

Mrs. Berman was a beautiful and gentle person who was loved dearly by everyone she surrounded herself with. She will never be forgotten. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph; her two sons, Scott (Heather) and Randy (Lizzie); grandchildren, Melissa (Brenton), Naomi (fiance Ross), Erik and Evan, great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Oliver and Luis, and niece, Lynne Pasciuti. 

Mrs. Berman was predeceased by her mother and father; her sister, Joan Hundertmark, and her niece, Pamela Dellraria. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial Home for Funerals, 62 Grove St. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
