Francis (Frank) Burroughs, 61, died on Jan. 9, 2020 in Springfield, Mass.

Mr. Burroughs was raised in Montclair, N.J. where he attended Rand and Hillside Schools, later graduating from Montclair High. He moved to Massachusetts soon after high school where he earned a nursing degree and began his career working with developmentally disabled adults until his retirement, but returned home to Montclair often to visit family and friends.

Mr. Burroughs was a unique individual who embraced life and the people he met. Among the many things he will be remembered for was his ability to easily make friends, his wit and humor, love of reggae music, the Grateful Dead, and his dreadlocks.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Catherine; and leaves behind to celebrate his life, his sister Lavinia, brother George, sister-in-law Greer, niece Kamaryn, nephews Kevin, Grant and Garrett, former wife, and life-long friend Jennifer Dugan, many relatives and countless friends.

Memorial and celebration of life will be held on Jan. 25,11 a.m., at The Commonwealth Club, 26 Northview Ave., Upper Montclair. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI.org.
