
Obituary: Gloria Jacqueline Bellofatto
Gloria Jacqueline (Maimone) Bellofatto, a lifelong resident of Montclair, died on April 3, 2021. She was 89.
Mrs. Bellofatto was born in 1931, grew up in Upper Montclair and graduated from Montclair High School. She loved her hometown.
She was a great homemaker and a wonderful cook. She hosted many holidays and family gatherings, where her infectious laughter could always be heard. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Bellofatto was a generous, kind and loving person, and her home was always open to family and friends. She especially enjoyed gardening, trips to the Jersey Shore and vacationing in Florida. She was a loyal Yankees fan and rarely missed a televised game.
She is survived by her children, Susan Corino (Mark), Lauren Gabelli (Gene) and Albert (Leanne); her granddaughter, Michele Volpe (Michael), and two great-grandsons, Vincent and Valentino.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, R. Richard Bellofatto; her parents, Peter and Josephine Maimone; her sister, Rose Kerr, and her brothers, Thomas and Joseph.
A funeral Mass was said on April 8 at Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair, followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
