Obituary: John Flakes Jr.

John Flakes Jr., of Montclair, died peacefully on April 3, 2023. He was 51.

Mr. Flakes was born to Alice and John Flakes Sr. in 1971 in Newark.

He was a kind person who would help anyone he met. He loved animals, and most of all he loved his family.

Mr. Flakes is survived by his wife, Taherrah; his mother, Alice Flakes; four children, Christopher Sperry-Flakes, Almid Edwards, Amiah Flakes and Amir Flakes; his siblings, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services were private.

Arrangements were by Martin’s Home for Service, 48 Elm St.
