Obituary: Leslie ‘Les’ Hayne Schriber
Leslie “Les” Hayne Schriber of Huntersville, North Carolina, a former longtime resident of Montclair, died unexpectedly on Feb. 20, 2023. He was 72.
Mr. Schriber was born in Point Pleasant in 1950 to the late Les Schriber and Elsie Butler Schriber. He graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School in 1968, where he was a member of its first undefeated football team.
He graduated from Northland College, Ashland, Wisconsin, and enjoyed a successful career as a sales executive.
As a lifeguard in Point Pleasant Beach, he met his future wife, Judi Kelleher.
Mr. Schriber spent most of his adult life in Montclair, where he and his wife raised their five children. While he traveled extensively for work, he always made time to be there for his children’s activities.

Once their children were grown, the couple moved to North Carolina to be near family, where he then enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees.
