Ruth Brown-Taylor, of Montclair, died Nov. 25, 2020. She was 87.

Mrs. Brown-Taylor was born on June 28, 1933, in Glen Ridge to the late Joseph Kemp Brown and Helen Grace Cook Brown.

Early in her life she worked as a baby nurse in New Jersey before moving to New York in 1960, when she married the late Reuben Rutherford Carter.  

Mrs. Brown-Taylor had a long career as the registrar for vocational teacher education for the City University of New York.

She married the late Christopher Taylor in 1981, and they moved to Stroudsburg, Pa., in 2003. This past year she relocated back to her childhood hometown of Montclair. 

Mrs. Brown-Taylor is survived by her son, Paul D. Brown; daughter, Lisa Carter-Meachem, and seven grandchildren.

She will be forever in her family’s hearts and missed far more than she would believe. 

Interment was set for Rosedale Cemetery, Montclair.  Arrangements were by Martin’s Home for Service, Montclair.
