
Montclair man arrested for stabbing death of his father

A Montclair man has been arrested for the murder of his father. Josiah Correa, 24, of Montclair allegedly fatally stabbed his father in an Orange Road apartment on Tuesday evening, July 9, police said.
Correa was arrested in the second story apartment he shares with his mother at 307 Orange Road in Montclair, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti.
Jose Correa, 51, of Woodland Park, was pronounced dead in the Orange Road apartment at 9:16 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, police said.
Details of the fatal stabbing are still under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The building, that houses a barber shop and a restaurant on the first floor, was blocked off by crime tape Tuesday evening until about 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

One neighbor, who lives in the back of the building, said she did not hear anything pertaining to the incident.
The son has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
