Better late than never.
Montclair Public Library and Foundation posted to Facebook last week a picture of an overdue book that was returned after more than four decades.
“A very honest patron just returned a book that was due in 1978! Good thing we’re fine free,” the post read.
The picture included an apology note from the patron along with the book “Paddington Abroad.”
The note read: “My apologies for the late return. I guess it’s better late than not returning it at all.”
