Photos: Hundreds hunt at Hillside Swap

More than 230 'swappers' swarmed the Hillside School for the Winter Community Swap on Saturday, by the time doorman Johnson Tyler's stopped counting about 9:24, after the line was swallowed up into the building. Tyler's the husband of the event founder and organizer Jane Marcus, wrangling a team of 25 volunteers helping to recycle the gently used goods. Since 2006 the Hillside School Community Swaps attract an early crowd waiting to gain entry for the free event, held two or three times a year. Each meet offers a gymnasium and hallway full of adult and children’s clothing, children’s/young adult books, DVDs, unopened (or taped shut) games, puzzles and toys, sports equipment, shoes, cleats and boots; baby gear, bikes, backpacks, purses and luggage, and small household items.
