Theft from a motor vehicle
Wednesday, May 20—The complainant reported that his vehicle on Park Street was entered and rummaged through. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked. The suspect removed an unknown amount of cash.
Thursday, May 21—A Vera Place resident reported that her vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. The suspect(s) emptied the contents of a backpack and the glove compartment, but nothing was reported missing.
Thursday, May 21—A North Fullerton Avenue resident reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. The suspect stole the complainant’s wallet, which was inadvertently left inside the car.
Thursday, May 21—A Park Street resident reported her vehicle had been entered during the overnight hours. The glove compartment and center console were rummaged through and a debit card as well as $10 in change were stolen.
Sunday, May 24—Two vehicles parked in a Fessler Place driveway were entered during the overnight hours. Both vehicles were rummaged through. The only reported missing items were power cords for small electronics.
Wednesday, May 20—An employee of a restaurant on Glenridge Avenue reported encountering two males taking used cooking oil from his oil drums. One male reportedly became confrontational when questioned about the theft. Both suspects fled the scene in a white van with a New York registration. The oil was valued at approximately $240.
Wednesday, May 20—An Irving Street resident reported that an unknown person(s) stole the license plates off her 2005 Ford E3 van. The resident could not provide a time frame, only stating that it occurred sometime since mid-March.
Thursday, May 21—A Greenwood Avenue resident reported that an Amazon package that had been delivered to his home was stolen. The package reportedly contained electronics.
Friday, May 22—The complainant reported that a Giant Roam 3 Disc S metallic black bicycle valued at $543 was stolen from the side of her Midland Avenue home.
Friday, May 22—A FedEx package containing an iPad valued at approximately $430 was stolen from the front porch of a residence on Norwood Avenue.
Sunday, May 24—A Union Street resident reported multiple delivered packages stolen from her front porch.
Monday, May 25—A Forest Street resident reported that his black and blue Roadmaster bicycle was stolen from his property.
Thursday, May 21—A 37-year-old from Newark was arrested on Pine Street and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Sunday, May 24—A 20-year-old Montclair resident was arrested on Maple Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
