Police investigating three robberies on Aug. 24

Police are investigating three robberies that took place in the area of Bloomfield Avenue on Aug. 24.
At 1:15 a.m., a 33-year-old Montclair man reported being approached by three men on Bloomfield Avenue who demanded that he hand over money. One of the men made a gesture implying that he had a gun, according to police.
When the victim made a scene, another man came to his aid, causing the suspects to flee. The suspects were last seen fleeing south on Mission Street.
Three hours later, at approximately 4:15 a.m., a man was approached by five males who ran up behind him on New Street and grabbed his wallet, which contained $31, police said.
Later that evening, at 5:25 p.m., a man told police that he was approached by three males, with one asking if he had a few dollars to spare.
The victim pulled cash out of his pocket to look for small bills when one of the males grabbed all of the cash, which consisted of $300. The males then fled south on Maple Avenue.
Police have not said if the incidents might be related.
