A Montclair man is one of two people under arrest for allegedly shooting a man near Canterbury Park Sunday night, police said.

Daevon Saunders-Roberts, 20, of Montclair, and Quanaisa Owens, 18, of Elizabeth, were identified as involved in the shooting and arrested on May 1, police said.

Police were called to the area of Planchet Drive at 11:53 p.m. on April 29, after a passerby called 911 to report an injured man. The victim, a 25-year-old man from Elizabeth, was taken to an area hospital with a single bullet wound to the abdomen. The man was reported to be in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon, Lt. David O'Dowd said.

Saunders-Roberts is facing charges of robbery, conspiracy, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Owens was charged with conspiracy.

The incident is still under investigation.
