Praise for Essex’s vaccination program (Letter)
This 93-year-old, wants to second the praise by Klaus Schnitzer, in the Feb. 11 Opinion page of Montclair Local, of the Essex County Inoculation Center. I had registered with the NJ Vaccine Scheduling System and was placed in the 1B class of risk. As a veteran of World War II, I also checked with the nearby VA Clinic only to learn I did not qualify.
Fortunately, my daughter-in-law had signed me up with the Essex County program, and within a short time I received my first COVID-19 vaccination at the Kmart West Orange location. The facility is large, airy, spotlessly clean and manned by persons who understand what is required of them. They made the visit very pleasant and the vaccination ouchless.
I believe Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo deserves thanks and praise for organizing such an efficient operation in this time of need. I strongly recommend the Essex County program to residents of Montclair who need to be vaccinated.
