Amy Fox, president of Studio Players, writes that since Paper Mill was paring its stock of props  as it moved its scene shop from Maplewood to Union. The New Jersey state theater offered the beleaguered Montclair community theater first pick of anything Paper Mill was not taking.

“We chose to take a fabulous period sofa, an elegant chair, several props rifles, a coffee table, a wonderful wagon, record albums, a few small rugs and several bolts of fabric with the thought of recovering seats of some of our metal base chairs that were destroyed in the flood. We also chose a few curtains,  bedspreads and other things of that nature. The staff helped load our vehicles that day, and I returned Friday with a larger vehicle to retrieve the bigger pieces.”
