Starting Saturday, July 20, at the Montclair Farmers' Market (MFM), and for the rest of the summer season, senior vouchers are given double value or "Double Bucks". This means that when a senior redeems, say, $20 of their Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (F.M.N.P.) vouchers at the market, they can purchase $40 of fresh, healthy produce from the vendors, thanks to a generous grant receives from Partners for Health.

Essex County annually provides income-qualified Essex seniors with Farmers' Market Nutrition Program vouchers, to be used at any farmers' market in this county. The County Division of Senior Services began distributing them last month, and seniors could pick them up from the County offices in Verona.

Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers will also be distributed at the Montclair Farmers’ Market on Aug. 3. Please bring proof of identification (age requirement of 60+), proof of residency in Essex County and proof of income

Eligible residents can earn no more than an annual income of $22,459; monthly income of $1,872; bi-monthly income of $936 or weekly income of $432.

County officials will be at the market 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Walnut Street Train Station parking lot.
