Bellevue Theatre redevelopers withdraw plans for reopening

The group planning to remodel and reopen Montclair’s historic Bellevue Theatre has pulled out — at least temporarily.

Movie theaters in New Jersey are closed for now. The Bellevue will re-open; it is unclear what will hapen to the Clairidge.

Plans for the renovated Bellevue Theater include six theaters, a restaurant and a bar, but no parking.

Highgate Hall LLC signed a lease with Bellevue Theatre owner Jesse Sayegh last week, and plan to begin construction for a revamped venue this fall.

Negotiations continue for the fate of Bellevue Theatre, 268 Bellevue Ave., according to Andrew Cifelli, lawyer for Bellevue owner Jesse Y. Sayegh.

Montclair residents Luke Parker Bowles, Patrick Wilson, and Vincent Onorati are teaming up to resuscitate the Bellevue Theatre.
