Montclair health director Susan B. Portuese retired as director of the Montclair Health Department on Friday, July 2.

Numbers of cases continue to decline as New Jersey returns to a "new normal." Montclair Public Library accepts returns; Watchung Booksellers opens doors.

The summer program is aimed at students who have been especially vulnerable during the distance learning period, including students who are behind academically, in need of social and emotional support, students with disabilities experiencing regression, and students are homeless.

Gov. Phil Murphy warned Friday that although New Jersey was seeing some encouraging signs that the COVID-19 curve was starting to flatten, he warned residents to continue social distancing, particularly with a holiday weekend coming up.
