Montclairian Nanfu Wang, a documentary filmmaker, has been named a MacArthur Fellow ("Genius Grant") in the Class of 2020.

DOC NYC, founded by three Montclairites, turns 10, and "One Child Nation," directed by new Montclairite Nanfu Wang, is hiighlighted in its roster.

Montclair's Raphaela Neihausen spearheads the Split Screens Festival, a festival of television that presents panels and personalities, May 29-June 3 in NYC.

"Breslin and Hamill: Deadline Artists," a documentary by Montclair filmmakers Jonathan Alter, John Block, and Steve McCarthy, airs on HBO on Jan. 28.

Montclairites Raphaela Neihausen and Thom Powers run DOC NYC, the largest documentary film festival in America, which runs through Nov. 15.
