The man hired to run the inquiry became Montclair's business administrator Monday night, replacing one of the people he was investigating.

Montclair Superintendent Jonathan Ponds had previously declined to publicly identify Nicholas Cipriano as the investigator looking into a supervisor's claims of a toxic work environment.

But many teachers and Board of School Estimates members say they're put off by the uncertainty.

Also discussed at the meeting was a recently approved proposal to embark on an Energy Savings Improvement Plan, a series of energy upgrades at the schools that would help the district save money on utility bills in the long run.
