Essex County Sheriff’s Office sent a team of officers to Brookdale Park Tuesday after receiving an anonymous tip about two individuals seen trying to lure children from the park’s playground to a car. No arrests were made, according to Julian Coltre, public information officer for the Essex County Sheriff.
Coltre said the officers took statements from parents and others at the park and also canvassed the area looking for a white sedan, but didn’t find the car or any male or female that met the descriptions provided. Montclair and Bloomfield Police also assisted.
Coltre said if anyone has additional information that might be helpful, or if they see something suspicious at the park, they can contact the Main Command post hotline at 973-621-4111.
