Temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s tomorrow and Thursday, and the Essex Pool will be open and ready for locals to make waves as soon as the mercury starts climbing.

In anticipation of extremely high temperatures, the Essex Pool will be open tomorrow, June 20 and Thursday, June 21 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. All pools will open for the season on Friday, June 22.

Don’t have a pool badge? You can pick them up at the Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs office, 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You can also purchase them online here.

The extremely high temperatures shouldn’t linger too long. Weather.com reports that a cold front will start to bring temps down by Friday.

  1. Tried to get our passes online, it was a waste of time. It really does not help as you have to go in a day later to pick them up and show identification. It kind of defeats the object of being online.

  2. Wow… then the whole online thing is completely useless. I would gladly pay an extra fee for them to mail the badges to my house!

If I could get there between the hours of 8:30 – 4:30 then I wouldn’t need to register online! DUH!

Does the Rec department not have Tuesday evening hours anymore?

    sheesh.
