Attorneys argued in court Tuesday whether the Lackawanna Plaza redevelopment plan approved by the Montclair Planning Board in 2019 should go back to the board for more public comment. 

On Friday, April 30, a group of residents will ask a judge to reconsider his own earlier ruling, and send a plan to redevelop the Lackawanna Plaza property back to Montclair’s planning board for more testimony. 

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit by 200 residents against Montclair’s planning board over its approval of a plan to redevelop the historic Lackawanna property.

A year after the approval of the new supermarket in the Lackawanna Plaza redevelopment, Fourth Ward residents are wondering when they will see a groundbreaking — and a supermarket. 

Lackawanna Local Motion, a fundraiser for the legal fees in the suit against the development, will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Montclair Brewery.
