The event is designed to build relationships between first responders and the communities they serve.

Since the start of the month, Valerian, a physician as well as the medical director for the Montclair Ambulance Unit, has been on the site of the collapsed Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida.

Katherine Carter, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, said no charges had been filed against the driver as of Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Firefighters were called to Oxford Street at 11:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a smoke condition at Grove Street and Oxford Street, Deputy Montclair Fire Chief Robert Duncan said. 

A Montclair company, ArrayMedTech, is donating test kits to the Montclair Ambulance Unit so they can screen workers for the presence of COVID-19 antibodies.

The unit put out an appeal on social media for anyone who has access to spare N95s to donate them. Other needed items include Lysol wipes, financial donations, and gift cards to area restaurants and eateries.
