Montclair’s Historic Preservation Commission has approved the demolition of a home at 13 Wheeler St. — the first razing the commission has granted since it was given oversight of some demolitions in 2019.
Evergreen, the Charles Shultz home, will be listed for sale this Friday, according to Montclair History Center officials who are stewards of the century-old home at 30 North Mountain Ave. The asking price is $1.449 million.

About 30 residents of Oakcroft and Wheeler streets concerned with property rights spoke out against declaring their two neighborhoods as local landmark districts at the Dec. 10 Montclair Historic Commission meeting.
The Montclair Historic Preservation Commission will hold a community meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. to discuss the nomination proposals to designate the Oakcroft and Wheeler Street neighborhoods as Local Landmark Districts.
