The owners of a mixed-use property on Glenridge Avenue plan to create an arts and entertainment venue that will provide free space to Montclair residents.
The developer is proposing that on top of providing parking for the MC Hotel, Valley and Bloom, the BOE and general public, they can add the MC Residences to mix at the Orange Road parking deck.
Planning board member Martin Schwartz, who had spoken out against how the town handled a question over density for a proposed multi-family redevelopment, will still be part of the decision making for that development — the 46-unit MC Residences currently being heard before the planning board.
The planning board approved upgrades to the museum’s grounds including an outdoor sculpture garden, a public space with a water wall and a reflecting pond with a newly commissioned work of art.
Two property owners seeking approvals to subdivide their lots — one on Upper Mountain and the other on High Street — were told to come back to the planning board on Aug. 12.
