Out of 10 facilities in the township, Montclair Manor is the only one currently experiencing an outbreak, according to the state data. Eight other Essex County long-term-care facilities also have outbreaks now.

When malls reopen, stores will be limited to a 50-percent customer capacity, and restaurants can offer food for takeout or for outdoor dining only. Communal areas such as food courts will remain closed or cordoned off.

COVID-19 did not create the problem, the report said, but instead the virus “exacerbated long-standing, underlying systemic issues affecting nursing home care in New Jersey.”

By the end of May, the goal is to have at least 20,000 tests conducted daily and 25,000 conducted daily by the end of June.
