The New Jersey School Boards Association has released a report detailing the issues that will face school officials and families when the schools reopen to a “new normal.”
When schools first closed back in March, the district, working with nutrition vendor Pomptonian, offered grab-and-go meals at three different schools - Hillside, Nishuane and Montclair High School - while Toni’s Kitchen provided bags of groceries. On April 6, based on demand, the meal distribution was consolidated into one pickup spot at Toni’s Kitchen.
Once the background checks are complete and the new superintendent has signed the contract, Board President Eve Robinson said that the district will convene a remote meeting with the new superintendent so they can be introduced to the BOE and to the public.
The school district presented two forums, moderated by Charlene Peterson of the New Jersey School Boards Association, on the superintendent search on Feb. 10.
