Montclair’s Planning Board members say they’re concerned the Orange Road garage won’t be able to accommodate enough cars for special events.

A parking expert told the Planning Board Monday that the Orange Road garage could park up to 694 vehicles in the case of a special event by going mostly valet. 

The developers of the Orange Road garage say they’ll no longer be using the vehicle lift system in which Montclair’s Planning Board let them expand their footprint to accommodate it in 2017.

Although residents complain of the lack of parking in Montclair, the Orange Road Garage is apparently underutilized
