The bond referendum is the single most important item on the ballot this November. Supporting its schools is the most important investment a community can make, and this bond is of particular significance.

The proposal simultaneously redresses decades of neglect by repairing crumbling roofs and failing boilers, makes improvements to ventilation that will benefit the health and safety of all students, including bringing air conditioning to all 11 schools, and will transform our children’s learning environment with new STEM labs and music rooms.

In addition, the bond will pay for long-overdue repairs to playgrounds, gymnasiums and auditoriums. Given that the state will fund 31 percent of the cost of the debt service, it’s a no-brainer for the Montclair community.

A group of community members have come together to organize support for this crucial ballot measure. Anyone interested in joining this effort should email investinmontclair@gmail.com.
