Montclair High School graduated senior Kiya Lawson will take her track cleats to Howard University this fall. Lawson comes off an incredible 2022 spring track and field season that included winning the State Meet of Champions 200-meter sprint.
Montclair Kimberley's Isiah Udofia, one of the top long jumpers in the state, spent time in his father, Nkere, home country of Nigeria to help his father's friend that runs a medical outreach program. In the fall Udofia heads to Yale University where he will compete in track and field.
Montclair High School seniors, Kiya Lawson and Elizabeth Fitzgerald, collected medals at the June 18th State Meet of Champions at Franklin High School. Lawson won the 200-meter state title and came in second in the 100-meter race. Fitzgerald finished second in the state in the pole vault.
Montclair senior Kiya Lawson and junior Richard Fortune collected first place finishes in the 100 meters and the discus respectively at the Essex County Track and Field championships on Thursday, May 19 in Montclair. Lawson and Montclair Kimberley senior Isiah Udofia grabbed second place finishes in the 400 meters and triple jump respectively.
After a record-setting senior year on the track and field team, recent Montclair High School graduate Jessie Legister will now set his sights on doing even better at Northeastern University.
After a season filled with success after success, the Montclair High School track & field team received even more awards with numerous All-State and All-SEC awards.
