The late Scout leader Randy Holden to be honored
The late Randy Holden will be honored by a dedication at the waterfront at Camp Glen Gray, the Essex Council’s Boy Scout camp, on Sunday, July 31, at 11 a.m.
A longtime Montclair resident, Mr. Holden was active in Scouting since his youth. He spent many summers at Camp Glen Gray and, as an adult, led Troop 4 Montclair and remained active at Glen Gray. He died last year at 71.
For years, his contributions to the camp were immense. He was always there to lend a hand, take on projects, share stories and, most importantly, create new memories. He is sorely missed.
One of the tasks he did religiously was manage the dock assembly at the start of the camp season, followed by its removal at the end of the season. The waterfront is to be named in his honor.
Camp Glen Gray is located on 200 Midvale Mountain Road, Mahwah. All of Mr. Holden’s friends are welcome.
