The anguished parents who have been writing Montclair Local regarding the ridiculous school lockdown mandates have my deepest sympathy, not only for the negative effect these edicts are having on their children, but on their respective psyches as well.

Maybe someday (but I won’t hold my breath), our political leaders will have the temerity to admit that these one-size-fits-all lockdowns were an egregious mistake.

Naturally, seniors and those with underlying health issues were well-advised to hunker down until vaccines were widely available. Everyone else, especially our school-age children, could have proceeded with their lives.

No existing “follow the science” mumbo-jumbo can refute that.
