Hundreds of young readers in Halloween costumes, along with their parents, descended on Judy Newman's home on Montclair Avenue on Halloween afternoon. Newman, the president of Scholastic Book Clubs, sets out tables of books each year to give out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. More than 5,000 books, ranging in age group from early readers to middle grade and young adult, were available for readers to browse and to take home with their bags of candy.
