The need for local blood donations remains high and the Red Cross is asking those who have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus to donate.
Donors are welcome as long as they are symptom-free, feeling well and can provide the name of the vaccine manufacturer. There is no waiting period after getting a vaccine dose.
All blood types are needed, especially type O.
In Montclair, the following blood drives are being held:
- May 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., YMCA of Montclair, 25 Park St.
- May 31, 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Central Presbyterian Church, 46 Park St.
