Vehicle overturns on Valley Road in Montclair

A rollover accident on Valley Road on Monday blocked off part of the street for a period of time.

Police Lt. David O’Dowd said that about 1:55 p.m., a 30-year-old Montclair woman had been driving a silver Jeep Liberty south along Valley Road. She lost control of the vehicle on the bend near Brunswick Road, and the vehicle rolled over onto a nearby lawn, coming to rest on its roof against a tree.

O’Dowd said that the woman complained of pain, but she refused medical treatment at the scene. The tree sustained damage from having been struck by the vehicle, he said.

The section of Valley Road between Club Street and Brunswick Road, including in front of Montclair Kimberley Academy’s middle school campus, was closed off for a period of time as police investigated the accident and the vehicle was towed.
