The Montclair NAACP and the Montclair community organizations listed below request that an extension be provided on Ordinance R-21-228, in order to extend the current rent freeze moratorium for three months, until a rent control ordinance is adopted.

Without this extension there will be no protection for renters in Montclair to fend off the unprecedented number of unconscionable expected rent increases.

We urge the Township Council to vote to extend the ordinance at their next council meeting, on March 15.
