Woman found dead in Montclair apartment

Authorities are investigating after a woman was found dead in a Montclair apartment earlier this week.
Police were called to the woman’s apartment on Grove Street on Sunday.
Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly said Friday that the cause and manner of the woman’s death were under investigation, and that toxicology reports were pending from the New Jersey State Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The woman’s death does not appear to be suspicious at this time, Fennelly said.
Montclair Police Lt. David O’Dowd referred all questions to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
