Woman injured, light pole knocked over in Montclair accident
A woman was taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident, which also knocked over a light pole, in Montclair Wednesday morning.
Police Lt. David O’Dowd said that a 65-year-old Montclair man was traveling east on Union Street when his vehicle collided with one driven by a 33-year-old woman from East Orange, who was traveling north on South Fullerton Avenue.
The collision resulted in a township light pole being knocked down, blocking the street.
Traffic in both directions on South Fullerton Avenue was diverted away from the intersection while police and the Montclair Ambulance Unit responded to the incident.
O’Dowd said that the woman complained of back pain and was taken to Mountainside Hospital, and that the accident was still under investigation as of Wednesday afternoon.
