UPDATE: The Empty Bowls Project has been has been rescheduled due to impending snow and ice. The Empty Bowls event will now be held on Thursday, March 3  from 5:30 pm-7 pm.

Millburn Middle School students have been hard at work creating beautiful ceramic bowls in art class. The bowls are for the Empty Bowls project, an international effort to fight hunger.

On Thursday, January 27, the public is invited to enjoy a meal of soup and bread (donated by Whole Foods Market) served in the students’ bowls. After the meal, you keep your bowl as a reminder that there are empty bowls in the world and hunger continues to be an issue that we need to help. The cost is just $15, which be donated to Down the Block, The Community Foodbank of New Jersey and The Nepal Program for Progress.

Save the date and plan to take your family for a dinner that will do more than warm your bellies–it will warm your hearts.
