Montclair mom of three, Jeriza Peralta, is in the process of launching kana, a new cool fashion line for kids. See a sample of her clothes at left. They’re meant to be NYC-stylish and also affordable. Outfits will be available for purchase on kana’s website soon.

In the meantime, Peralta is hosting a fundraiser-slash-launch party this Saturday in West Orange. Proceeds will go to Kana’s Miracle Walk team for the NICU at St. Barnabas Medical Center. Kana’s fundraiser promises lots of fun, including a fashion show, makeup artists from MAC, two bouncy houses and lots of treats from PopChips, Murray’s Cheese and MetroMint Water and many more.

Peralta grew up sewing clothes for her dolls and ended up working in NYC’s fashion industry for 10 years. “Starting kana is a reflection of both my love for my children and my love for fashion,” she said. The name kana is the word anak spelled backward, which means “child” in Tagalog, the native language of the Philippines where Peralta was born.
