Aram Sinnreich and Dunia Best Sinnreich of Dubistry.

Ska, reggae, and breakbeat fans should head to Crossroads in Garwood Thursday night to check-out the Montclair-based band Dubistry: where dub music meets artistry.

The talented husband and wife team of Aram Sinnreich on bass guitar and Dunia Best Sinnreich on vocals, flute, and percussion, will perform there at a Version City dance party. The recurring ska and reggae events are hosted by King Django, a seminal force in the American music scene.

The Sinnreich’s, who are also Hillside Elementary School parents, will appear with the other members of Dubistry: Matt Urbania on guitar, Todd Nocera on keyboards, and Jeff Dyke on drums. The group performs mostly original music, along with an occasional cover, such as their new reggae version of Joni Mitchell’s “Blue.”

Dubistry’s single “Roll Away” is featured on ska music compilations in the U.S., South America and Japan. Listen to Dubistry here.
