Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, would have been 108-years-old on March 2. In honor of the man who gave us The Cat in the Hat and many other childhood favorites, Monday, March 3 is the 17th annual Read Across America Day, a reading motivation and awareness program from the National Education Association (NEA) that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading.

You can join in Read Across America and the celebration of Dr. Seuss in the following ways:

1) Eat green eggs and ham for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

2) Take the Read Across America Pledge.

3) Make and wear a Cat in the Hat hat.

4) Read together. Choose from this great list of teacher recommended books.

5) Let your kids play online at Seussville.

6) Print out these bookmarks for the kids.
