What an amazing fall weekend! Families had fun today at Freeman Gardens in Glen Ridge as kids wandered through a pumpkin patch and selected their own perfect pumpkin. Choosing from over 500 pumpkins was an exciting adventure in itself, but there was more. Paints and decorating kits were available and the children created happy, funny or scary faces on their pumpkins.

Music filled the air as The Foggy Minded Boys, an accomplished, Montclair-based bluegrass group provided a toe-tapping accompaniment to the activities. Adults brought their garden-related questions to local garden writer Elisabeth Ginsburg, who was on duty at the Gardeners Question Table.

Apple cider was served throughout the event.
