Montclair Center Stage will present a School of Rock Montclair “Endless Summer” Rockfest Concert on Saturday, August 29.
“Our ‘Endless Summer’ Rockfest will showcase our fantastic students, our awesome faculty members, and our exciting performance program shows that we have planned for our fall season,” says School of Rock Montclair Creative Director Kevin March. “The vibe will be energetic and pure party fun to keep the summer heat going strong.”
The “Endless Summer” Rockfest schedule is:
- 5 pm – 5:20 pm: Junior House Band, featuring a set of rock favorites performed by School of Rock Montclair students ages seven through 12 and includes Ava Read (8 years old, vocals), Isobel Middleton (10, guitar/vocals), Spencer Thron (11, guitar/bass), Tyler Eng (10, guitar/keyboard/vocals), Alex Carpenter (12, guitar/bass), Chris Skabich (9, keyboard), and Sway Bahatia (drums/guitar/vocals).
- 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm: House Band, comprised of the School’s teen musicians who recently performed at Summerfest in Milwaukee along with the Flaming Lips, Stevie Wonder, Sublime with Rome, Buddy Guy, and Third Eye Blind. The band includes Sam Schuman (16, guitar/bass/drums/vocals), Austen Mulligan (16, guitar/vocals/bass), Jordan Scott-Young (13, vocals), Aaron Bissoondial (16, guitar), and Aidan Champeau (14, guitar/bass/vocals).
- 6:45 pm – 8 pm: Faculty Band Fall Season Preview, comprised of Kevin March, Mark Dollar (guitar instructor), Phil Silverberg (keyboard, guitar, and vocal instructor), Tom Nadolski (guitar and bass instructor), Josh Bertelli (guitar and bass instructor), Linda Everswick (vocal, keyboard, and saxophone instructor), Christian Breuder (keyboard and vocal instructor), Joe Billy (drum instructor), Lewis Robinson (vocal instructor), and John Soriano (bass and guitar instructor). “Like” School of Rock Montclair on Facebook for a sneak preview of songs from the Fall Season Performance Program shows that the teachers will be performing. During the week of August 27, the School will post one hint each day leading to the big reveal at “Endless Summer” Rockfest, and invites Facebook users to guess the artists who will be featured.
- 8:15 pm – 9 pm: Turn on the Galaxy, featuring original music created by three of School of Rock Montclair’s faculty members (Josh Bertelli, Phil Silverberg, and Tom Nadolski).
- 9:15 pm – 10 pm: Blastaways, featuring hits by The Pretenders, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, The Ramones, Joan Jett, and more performed by Montclair musicians Cecile Williams, Ben St. Jacques, Vik K., Kevin March, and special guests.
