open streets montclair

This year’s Open Streets Montclair Festival will be bigger and better! The Festival will take place in Downtown Montclair on Sunday, October 2.

Happening in over 100 cities across North America, Open Streets events temporarily close streets to car traffic and open them up to people to socialize, play and shop, while promoting active lifestyles, recreation and transportation.

Organized by Montclair Township, the Montclair Center BID and Bike/Walk Montclair — and presented by Schumacher Insurance — Open Streets Montclair will begin with the return of the Tour de Montclair bike ride throughout the town and end with the Festival on Glenridge Avenue with music on Montclair Center Stage, food, community partners and parklets for the community to enjoy:

The day begins at 9 am with registration for the ride, which then takes place from 10-12 pm. For those not riding, the construction of Parklets -— mini urban recreational and lounge spaces — will take place from 10-12. Then an after party will take place with music and activities on Glenridge Avenue from 12-3 pm.

The Montclair Public Library and the Montclair Art Museum will provide fun and educational family activities.
