Incident: Suspicious Condition
Description: Officer Wilk responded to Sunset Avenue on a report of a suspicious condition. The victim advised that an unknown male contacted her by telephone claiming to represent PSEG and was inquiring about a refund check. Shortly thereafter she received a knock at the door from a female who claimed to work for NJ Reimbursement Company, she was also inquiring about a refund check. The party left after being requested to leave. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

Incident: Driving while intoxicated & Possession of CDS.
Description: Officer Rivera and Officer Holley responded to Hillside Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue for a single car motor vehicle accident where the vehicle crashed into a retaining wall. Upon speaking with the driver, Mr. Paul Torres, 38 of Bensalem, PA, it was determined that he was intoxicated and in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. During the investigation, it was also determined that the passenger, Mrs. Angela Perez, 26, of Harrison NJ had active warrant and was in possession of CDS. Both parties were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. This case has been turned over to the Essex County Superior Court.

Incident: Burglary to Auto
Description: Officer Holley responded to Cross Place where she met with the victim who reported that her vehicle was entered by an unknown party and several items were taken. The victim reported that the vehicle was parked at approximately 6:45 PM on 11/22/2016 while she returned to the residence to obtain an item. Upon returning to the vehicle, the victim left the scene, shortly thereafter she realized several items were missing from the vehicle. Date/Time: 11-21-2016 at 7:00 am
Incident: Theft
Description: Officer High responded to Linden Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue where he met with the crossing guard who reported that several cones were missing. The crossing guard reported leaving the cones in the school parking lot on 11/18/2016 at 4PM after dismissal. It was determined that the cones, used to assist with crossing children, were stolen as they could not be located. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.
