Date/Time: 12-30-2016 at 12:30 PM
Incident: Entered Vehicle
Description: Officer Uliano responded to the 100 block of Ridgewood Avenue on a report of a vehicle which was entered on 12/29/2016. Upon arrival, he met with the victim who advised that an unknown person had entered the vehicle which was parked between 10AM and 6PM and removed loose change. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Rivera at 973-748-5400 x 119.

Incident: Theft
Description: Officer Grogan met with the victim who reported that on 12/29/2016 at 6:15PM, she was waiting at the bus stop at Bloomfield Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue. The victim reported that she placed a Victoria Secret bag on the ground which contained personal items. She reported that the bag was stolen while she was waiting at this location. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Rivera at 973-748-5400 x 119.

Incident: Driving Under the Influence
Description: Officer Re and Sgt. Schwartz responded to Glen Ridge Avenue and Highland Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident. While on scene, the driver, Mr. Justin Villatoro, 20 years old, of Bloomfield, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and possession of CDS. This matter has been referred to the Glen Ridge Municipal Court.

Incident: Criminal Trespass
Description: Officers were dispatched to Hillside Avenue on a report of an unknown person who was on the property. Sgt. Schwartz and Officer Re arrived and detained the suspect. Mr. David Awan, 21, of Wayne was placed under arrest for Trespassing and transported to the Glen Ridge Police Department where he was later processed and released. This matter has been referred to the Glen Ridge Municipal Court.

Incident: Theft
Description: Officer Grogan responded to the 100 Block of Sherman Avenue where he met with the victim. The victim reported that an unknown person had removed a package which was delivered to the residence on 12-19-2016 at 11AM. The package was confirmed to have been delivered by the delivery company. This matter is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Rivera at 973-748-5400 x 119.

Incident: Possession of CDS and Possession of a Weapon for an unlawful Purpose
Description: Sergeant Schwartz was on Patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle on Victor Avenue. Upon investigation, it was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were under the influence of CDS. Mr. Philip Marrow, 21, of Newark, Mr. Keyshawn Midwinter, 20, of Irvington, and Mr. Orlando Campbell, 21 of East Orange were placed under arrest for Possession of CDS and being under the influence of CDS. While investigation the incident, Mr. Gequan Cantey, 20, of Orange was charged with Possession of CDS and Unlawful Poss. of a Weapon as he was found to be in possession of a toy B.B. gun. This matter has been referred to the Essex County Superior Court.

Incident: Entered Vehicle & Theft
Description: Officers were dispatched to Ridgewood Avenue on a report of a Burglary to a Vehicle. Upon investigation, Officer’s located one of the suspects on Willow Street. The suspect, an identified Juvenile, was arrested and charged with Burglary to Auto and Theft. This matter has been referred to the Essex County Family Court.

Incident: Theft
Description: Officers were dispatched to Carteret Street on a report of a theft of packages. Upon arrival, Officer’s spoke to the caller who reported that a male party had removed several items from his neighbors front steps, however when confronted he returned the packages and fled the area. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

During this week the Glen Ridge Police Department investigated (zero) motor vehicle accidents.
