Incident: Fraud
Description: Officer Grogan responded to the 300 block of Forest Avenue on a report of Fraud. Upon arrival he met with the victim who advised that an unknown party had opened a credit card in his name. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Anthony Rivera at 973-748-5400 x 119 as this incident is under investigation.

Date/Time: 1-25-2017 at 6:10 pm
Incident: Theft
Description: Officer Holley responded to Hawthorne Avenue where she met with the victim. The victim reported that a package was delivered to the residence at approximately 6:05 PM, upon arriving home the package was rummaged through by an unknown party. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to contact Det. Anthony Rivera at 973-748-5400 x 119

Incident: Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Attempt
Description: Sergeant Gnardellis and Officer Roberts responded to the 400 block of Bay Avenue on a report of a party who had attempted to gain entry to a vehicle. A witness reported seeing the suspect enter a driveway and try to open a vehicle door. Mr. Julio Duran, 23, of Newark, was stopped by Officers and subsequently arrested for being in Possession of Stolen Property and Criminal Attempt. It was determined that Mr. Duran had driven a stolen vehicle to the area and was also in possession of the keys to the stolen vehicle. The defendant was arrested and transferred to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

During this week the Glen Ridge Police Department investigated (4) motor vehicle accidents.
