Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and there are several local parades and events to celebrate:

Parades

Nutley St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 4
Parade day will begin with an Investiture Mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 am. Parade lineup will begin at 12 pm at the Holy Family Parking Lot and Parade Step Off will begin promptly at 1 pm

West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 12
The 66th annual parade will step off at 12:15 pm on Main Street and Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Friday, March 17
Newark’s 82nd annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will start at the Prudential Center at 1 pm and proceed north on Mulberry Street, past the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Center Street, and conclude at Washington Park. There will be Reviewing Stands located at Mulberry and Clinton Streets as well as Central Avenue and Washington Street.

NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Friday, March 17  24
NYC’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, our country’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition, can be viewed on 5th Avenue between 44th Street and 79th Street beginning at 11 am.

 

Events

The Montclair Ambulance Unit will host its 6th annual St. Patrick’s Day Benefit on Friday, March 3 honoring our local Irish Pubs owners: Chris and Sharon Egan of Egan and Sons, Paul Brewster and Dave Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald’s 1928 Tavern and Bill Tierney and Family of Tierney’s Tavern.

Passaic Avenue, Nutley) starts the party after the Nutley St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 4 (Or even earlier if you want to skip the parade and start celebrating at 10 am). Enjoy free Corned Beef sandwiches, live music, bagpipes, Irish Step dancing, and more!

 

 

 

The Bloomfield Irishman of the Day Committee will honor three outstanding citizens who have dedicated their lives to their rich Irish heritage and to the Township of Bloomfield with a party on Saturday, March 4 at 12 pm at Fitzgerald’s 1928 (13 Herman St, Glen Ridge). Enjoy a traditional Irish lunch, all beers, wine & sodas, door prizes, and Super 50/50.

Cloverleaf Tavern (395 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ) will offer a St. Patrick’s Day Sunday Brunch on March 12, featuring all their Irish specials.

The Five Irish Tenors will perform at the MAYO Performing Arts Center on March 14 at 7:30 pm. The Five Irish Tenors fuse Irish wit and boisterous charm with lyricism, dramatic flair and operatic style to bring you a unique Irish tenor concert experience. Starring David Martin, Aaron Cawley, Ciarán Kelly, Alan Leech and George Hutton, this concert features famously beloved Irish songs and more.  Tickets are $29 – $59 and can be purchased online here.

The Shannon Rose (98 Kingsland Road, Clifton) hosts its St. Patrick’s Celebration from March 15 – March 18. Enjoy live Irish Music, Bagpipers, Step Dancers, drink and food specials every night!

The Montclair Public Library celebrates all things Irish with On That Note: St. Patrick’s Day Special Concert on March 17 at 12 pm. Darren O’Neill presents –“Celtic Keepsake:  The music of Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) arranged for classical guitar.” Free, but registration required.
